BIOCLIMATIC design is a weblog run by the civil engineer Effi Rapti and devoted to the future of design, tracking the innovations in technology, practices and materials that are pushing architecture and engineering towards a smarter and more sustainable future.

More specifically, it refers to the design of buildings and spaces (interior – exterior – outdoor) based on local climate, aimed at providing thermal and visual comfort, making use of solar energy and other environmental sources. Basic elements of bioclimatic design are passive solar systems which are incorporated onto buildings and utlilise environmental sources (for example, sun, air, wind, vegetation, water, soil, sky) for heating, cooling and lighting the buildings.

The content launched is solely based on the editor' s own aesthetic and design vision, and has continuously been developing and expanding in order to offer inspired building solutions with respect to nature and the environment, as mentioned below:

- Design criteria based on the conditions of the surroundings
- Sustainable building methods and practices
- Selection and management of the materials employed with the environment in mind
- Materials and insulation
- Efficient energy generation and use
- Architectural integration of renewable energies
- Energy rating of buildings, installations and equipment
- Information technology applications
- Sustainable development, management and use of buildings and urban projects
